What to expect from SAP Sapphire Now 2017
ASUG key role
As an event, SAP Sapphire NOW is also presented as the annual meeting and conference for ASUG, the SAP User Group of America.
The organization is an independent, non-profit organization of SAP client companies (chapters and special interest groups) and eligible third-party providers established with a view to providing education, networking, and access to technical resources.
Key brands in 2017
The key brands to focus on this year include SAP HANA (well, you would be surprised if it was not front and center) ... and where once we described SAP HANA as a smart database platform with an analytical device ... The product has been pushed forward as a more complete computing platform in its own right, in recent years.
In fact, SAP HANA for developers will be a part of Sapphire Now and the developer element is (arguably) strong with a company that is still essentially known as a data business in the first instance.
"Digital transformation is affecting the way the world does business. With SAPPHIRE NOW 2017, we aim to provide a total immersion experience to customers, partners and attendees from the first point of contact, to keynotes and the entire design floor We want our customers around the world to experience, dream and reimagine their businesses to operate live in this digital economy, "commented Maggie Chan Jones, speaking to Computer Weekly directly as SAP's chief marketing officer.
Other brands that will surely have a large part of Sapphire 2017 are SAP Leonardo.
SAP Leonardo - This is the SAP Internet of Things (IoT) technology designed to focus on what the firm calls "live business" connecting the emerging world of smart devices with people and processes.
"Moving from things to results is about new business processes like Industry 4.0, new business models and new ways of life and work," said Dr. Tanja Rueckert, executive vice president of Digital Assets and IoT of SAP. "With SAP Leonardo, we connect" things "with business processes that are instant and proactive, and with people who can more efficiently handle increased intelligence and autonomous systems. Our SAP Leonardo IoT portfolio fulfills SAP's commitment to delivering superior business value Through IoT business innovation ".
SAP Leonardo combines adaptive applications, high data management and connectivity into solutions packaged across business lines and industry use cases, ranging from products, assets and connected infrastructures.
The need to "adjust rights" to data
SAP will certainly use Sapphire to run across a wide range of its wide range of other powerful technologies (yes, we have it, this is now a large portfolio) throughout the event. He will also talk about the need to 'give an adequate size' to the data.
Part of that rights adjustment work will be reduced to helping companies know when to file or delete data - and when to make historical data accessible. This is where SAP will talk about its NetWeaver Information Lifecycle Management and SAP Content Server products.
Other areas of focus (as referred to in this bullet-point note) suggest that SAP will also focus on areas such as cloud configuration, data footprint management, data quality troubleshooting, orchestration Of processes and the SAP Fiori focused on User eXperience.
All work and no play? Apparently not, sources suggest that the firm has hired the rock band Muse for the end of the show party ... there is money in their data management, clearly.
